The First-Year Leadership Program (FLP) was established in 2006 to actualize the concept of a leadership-based program under the Asian American Student Union (AASU). FLP aims to create a space for unity, engagement, development, and mentorship. As a leadership organization, FLP hopes to imbue its members with a sense of confidence in their skills and ability, while also offering the opportunity to make a wide array of connections through networking and our extensive mentorship program. We aspire to give students an enjoyable first-year experience, while also educating upon APIDA issues, to empower them to reach their potential within the Asian American Student Union, the University of Florida, and beyond.
